Rachel's Defense

Rachel cleared one of the final hurdles of graduate school when she defended her dissertation.

Rachel's good friend Barb (in pink, there's a surprise) came to visit and be around for the Defense. Here are some shots of Rachel and Barb in Rachel's office before the Defense talk.

Here are some shots of the crowd before Rachel's public Defense talk started. Aside from the normal good LPL crowd, Windy and Laz were down from Flagstaff (Laz was in town for a HiRISE meeting).

After more than two hours of being in closed session with her committee, Rachel was passed, and everyone celebrated and congratulated her.

We went to Seri Melaka for dinner, vast amounts of Sesame Chicken were ordered, everyone left happy and full.
