Southern New Mexico 2001

These photos were taken on the Field Trip to Southern New Mexico from May 12-14, 2001.

I took some pictures of the vehicles before we left.

These are some photos in and around Kilbourne Hole, a very large Maar crater.

We also stopped at another Maar crater a few miles to the south called Hunt's Hole. We didn't find any mantle xenoliths, but we did find two rattlesnakes.

We also visted White Sands National Monument.

The final morning we were in the Valley of Fires overlooking the Carrizozo flow, which was totally cool.

After that we headed to the VLA.
